Many people play a role in helping students to succeed.

At the Idaho Saber Foundation we have created the Padrino program to partner hard working students with life-long mentors who take an active role of support in the educational and professional pursuits of Latino students. Padrinos take on the role of extended family members who can be looked to for emotional support, advice, recognition and who can act as champions for the needs of their students.

Students are partnered with a Padrino based upon their academic, personal and professional interests. Students are surveyed during the scholarship awards process to identify their unique aspirations, needs and challenges which are matched to Padrino candidates to ensure a rewarding experience for both.

Potential Padrinos
If you are an individual who is interested in making a lasting impact on a Latino student we are looking for you. To ensure the best match for each of our students we look for a diverse group of individuals who are willing to commit to long-term relationships. The only requirement is an ability to care. While many Padrinos are college educated or have a background in business – these are not requirements. Students will benefit from your life experience and are often inspired to seize opportunites that their Padrinos were not given.
